How to draw the Confident Male Stance pose
Everything here is about stability. The legs are straight and the feet sit a little outside the hip line, so the lower body forms a tall, narrow A from ankles to pelvis. Weight is shared evenly; neither hip drops, which keeps the belt line and the shoulder line parallel to the floor. That symmetry is what makes the figure read as calm authority rather than action. The chest lifts and the chin rises a few degrees, settling the head slightly back over the spine instead of pushing it forward.
The folded arms are the hard part. The forearms stack one above the other across the lower chest, and the upper arms press against the ribs, so the elbows end up just outside the torso silhouette. Because the arms cover the sternum, beginners often draw the shoulders too narrow; measure shoulder width first, then fit the arm block inside it. In the front view the stacked forearms appear as two horizontal bars with the hands tucked under the opposite biceps. The profile, with the figure facing left, shows how far the folded arms project in front of the chest and how the lifted ribcage tilts back. From the high angle the forearms overlap the belly and the feet shrink, while the low angle stretches the legs and makes the raised chin dominate.
Watch for three errors. Shrugged shoulders turn confidence into tension, so keep the line from neck to shoulder long and relaxed. Forearms that hover off the body look pasted on; they should rest against the chest. And feet placed close together make the figure look as if it might tip, which undercuts the whole message.
Reach for it when you need a male lead's turnaround, a boss waiting at the end of a corridor, a coach on the sideline or a bouncer at a door. In the editor, turn the head a few degrees to one side and lower the chin slightly: the same folded arms suddenly read as skeptical or bored, which gives you a second expression for the same sheet.
