There is no table in the scene, so the arms describe it. The hips slide back over straight legs and the torso leans forward through the lower back, less steeply than a bow but enough to bring the shoulders out over the hands. The upper arms reach forward and down, and the forearms lie level and folded across each other at about waist height, one crossing over the other, with each hand resting palm down beside the opposite elbow, fingers relaxed and hanging slightly over an edge that is not shown. Because the arms carry some weight, the shoulders lift a little toward the ears. The neck bends back so the head stays up, looking ahead across the imagined counter.

Draw the table plane first, even if you erase it later: a horizontal line at forearm height in the front view, an ellipse or receding rectangle in the high angle. Lay the forearms on it so their undersides flatten, and let the hands droop at the wrists. From the front, the folded forearms form a bar under the face, and the head sits just above with the neck short. The side view from the figure's left shows the diagonal of the back and the arms angling down and forward to the surface. The high-angle view reveals the stacked forearms as a shelf, and the back view shows the raised shoulders and the shoulder blades spreading apart.

More on angles and common mistakes

Most errors come from forgetting the surface: forearms clutched against the stomach, a head that follows the lean down, or level, unloaded shoulders that make the figure look like it is hugging itself. This leaning on table pose fits café and bar counters, shop desks, classroom scenes, interviews and conversations across a table.

In Edit this pose, bend the neck forward until the chin almost meets the stacked forearms; the alert lean turns into someone dozing at a desk.
