How to draw the Kneeling Chin Rest pose

three-quarter view
side view
back view
high-angle view
A single kneeling leg establishes a low contact behind the pelvis, while the opposite foot stands farther forward under a bent knee. That raised thigh gives the upper body a place to lean toward. One elbow approaches the elevated knee and its forearm rises to the chin. The remaining arm stays lower near the thigh, reinforcing the compact center instead of opening widely. Unlike a deep squat, the legs occupy different jobs and different heights. The rear knee, forward foot and inclined torso form the essential structure; the contemplative hand gesture sits on top of that arrangement.
Start a study by locating the grounded knee and forward ankle, then connect them through the pelvis. This prevents the striking chin support from becoming attached to a body with no plausible kneeling base. A side angle makes the front shin and rear thigh relationship especially clear. From the front, look for the offset between the head and the center of the hips. Rear views can expose the folded back foot hidden by the kneeling thigh. The wooden reference marks the hand near the chin with a simple articulated form, so detailed cheek pressure and individual knuckle placement are not guaranteed by the rig.
More on angles and common mistakes
A typical mistake is raising the back knee until both legs appear to be squatting. Another is lengthening the supporting forearm to reach a head positioned too far away. Bring the chest into the gesture rather than stretching the arm. This pose suits planning characters, listening scenes and asymmetrical kneeling studies. In Edit this pose, move the head slightly away from the chin hand while holding the elbow near the knee. The resulting pause feels less heavily supported. Review a three quarter view to keep a visible gap at the face and preserve the difference between the forward standing foot and the folded rear leg.
