How to draw the Hand on Heart pose

three-quarter view
side view
back view
high-angle view
The two hands tell different halves of the story. The left elbow sits low in front of the ribs and the forearm angles up and across, so the open palm lies against the left side of the chest with straight fingers pointing up toward the opposite shoulder and the thumb resting a little apart. The right arm hangs from a relaxed shoulder with the elbow down by the side, then the forearm stands upright so the hand floats at shoulder height. That hand forms the C: the thumb bends only slightly and points down, while the fingers curl in a staircase, the index least, then the middle and ring, with the little finger curled tightest, leaving an open gap between thumb tip and index tip. The head stays level with a slight tilt, and the stance below the frame rests on the left leg.
Treat the left hand as a shape that follows a curved surface. Its palm must bend with the ribcage, so draw the fingers sitting flat against the chest plane rather than poking out. The C hand is a small study in graded curls; sketch it as an arc first, then hang the knuckles on that arc. The front and low-angle views show the C opening cleanly. In the three-quarter and side views, which look from the figure's left, the raised right hand sits on the far side and the flat palm on the chest becomes the focus, with the forearm crossing diagonally over the torso. The back view mostly shows the upright right forearm beside the head.
More on angles and common mistakes
Common mistakes are a heart hand that floats off the chest, a C curled so tightly it becomes a fist, and a thumb that touches the index finger, which closes the shape into an OK sign. The hand on heart pose suits pledges, sincere thank-yous, fan greetings, idol photo cards and emotional reaction shots.
The half heart is meant to be finished by someone else. In Edit this pose, add a second figure, mirror it, and move it beside this one until its C hand closes the gap into a full heart.
