The figure makes a long diagonal from the right fingertips, reaching overhead along the floor, down to the right heel, which drifts a little away from the midline. Across that diagonal the left leg builds a tall triangle: thigh up, shin down, sole flat beside the opposite knee. The raised knee leans slightly toward the body's centre instead of standing bolt upright, and that small fall is what makes it read as relaxed rather than posed. The left hand rests on the hip bone with the elbow pointing out, giving the torso a second, smaller triangle. The head turns a few degrees to one side.

Read the pose first from the figure's left side. That profile shows the knee peak, the planted foot and the bent elbow together, and it proves that the shoulders and lower back stay down while only the leg rises. The front camera, looking up from the feet, lets the raised shin hide much of the chest, and the overhead arm becomes a short stroke beyond the head. The high angle lays out the whole plan at once: overhead arm, straight leg, flat foot and hand on hip. From the back, past the crown, the knee stands over the belly like a tent pole.

More on angles and common mistakes

The planted foot is the anchor. If it slides away from the straight knee the thigh drops and the shape turns into a sprawl; if it rises onto the toes the leg starts to look like an exercise. Keep the heel and the ball of that foot on the ground. Another trap is lifting the overhead arm into the air, when the forearm and the back of the hand actually lie along the floor, which is why the low angle foreshortens its whole length. In Edit this pose, rotate the raised thigh outward until the knee almost touches the floor, and the same arms now frame a hip-opening stretch.

Sunbathing on an imagined towel, daydreaming on a lawn, resting between training drills or a slow afternoon on the rug all fit this silhouette. The floor is not shown, so the surface and any cushion under the head are yours to invent.
